Born on July 27, in Detroit, Michigan; Shaun Quinn is the eldest of Derrick and Rita’s three kids. As a child he was very intriguing and expressive.  He developed a strong penchant for music. So much so, that he began rapping at the age of 8 and making beats by the age of 12. His passion for music served as a catalyst for his creativity.

Creative by nature, Shaun also found a passion for barbering and began honing his craft in his parent’s basement at the age of 14.  While most teenagers spent their free time outside the home, not Shaun, he was either in the basement giving his classmates a fresh cut or producing music.  He became well known in the city for his soulful and gritty beats as well as his signatures blended cuts.

Eventually he felt the need for change. In 2006 he took a leap of faith and left Detroit for Houston, TX; where he adopted the moniker "Wes Fresh". A nickname given to him by a local dj and friend. There he became a progressive barbershop owner/operator.  Wes’ services were interwoven with barbershop banter that has evolved into barbershop therapy.  It is no surprise that most of his patrons look forward to the “discussion of the moment” that covered a wide variety of topics ranging from emotional freedom, personal enlightenment, politics, relationships and religion.

After a break from rapping, Wes returned to his first love writing songs and making dope beats.  In 2015 he released both CAKEBOSS and That Fire, creating New Trap Swing, a feel good style of music capturing the essence of hip hop which is very much uplifting, motivational and carries a message to all of us willing to listen.  On a mission of purpose, Wes intends to continue to enlighten, bring self-assurance and comfort to those he encounters.  Through his outlets barbering and music, Wes hopes to encourage individuals to be just that, individuals.
